A day in the life of a Northern Ridgeback

Hi Everyone,

It's been quiet on the blog. Is anyone out there? I hope everyone is having a good New Year and keeping warm in the colder states. We've had snow here in Ohio and Morgan and Curtis love eating the ice that forms in the footprints. It's so funny to watch them dig up the chunks and chomp away. Little do they know I have a whole freezer full of the stuff. Their favorite is the snow balls I make and let them take inside. It's been too cold for our long walks so they are zooming around the house like crazy hounds. Then they kurplunk and sleep it off.

Curtis is doing well with his training classes and Morgan likes when we go too. You see, we bring her a present back with us:) I think we have every Kong out there since they have defluffed every stuffed toy they had.

Curtis is getting much better with Annie the Cat. He's learned that hissing means "No" and backs away. Annie still prefers the safety of the basement. I can't say I blame her with two 70-80 lb. hounds running amuck. She looks at them like they are beneath her, which in a cats mind I guess is true.

Looking forward to hearing from all you Ridgie lovers out there.

Patti

How much do I love this picture?

Now don't laugh but we have ice here too! Malibu had SNOW! On a sad note, so much of the citrus crops here have been destroyed. On a happy note, our friend has a lemon tree and brought us a bag full right before the freeze so we're auctioning them off on ebay. Opening bid is $1K. Just make your checks payable to NYU, which is where my husband's son goes to school. :)

It has been quiet on the blog but maybe this aerial view of Morgan and Curtis will inspire people to write.

I didn't know you were taking Curtis to class! I'm extremely spoiled. Jaxon came to me totally trained. It's as if God looked down upon me and said, "You desperately need a Ridge but Molly convinced me to send you one who's already trained and after getting to know Molly, I saw her point."

We've been hiking every day - the weather, albeit cold, is great for it. And to tell you all the truth, even though I just got Jax at 4 years old - I'm starting to have recovered memories of him as a puppy. Clearly their false memories but I don't care.

How's everyone else's Ridgies withstanding the cold?

I'm with you Babs but, I don't have lushes lemons to auction off. Just send checks made out to Kent State U, Ohio U and PA Culinary Institute. Oh and K-9 Piper's Place for Curtis:) He really doesn't need the "training" But I'd like to do Therapy with him and it's required. His sister is actually the one who needs it. She's next. Though the spray bottle is working wonders with her rudeness when greeting visitors.

Hi ya Robin. Thanks for sharing the corn bread story. I'd love to hear anything else about Curtis and Nora's (Ellie)beginings? What did the little old lady tell you? How long did she have them? How he was at your house, with your dogs, etc.

Thanks,
Patti
