Cooper's New Digs
This blog is for people who have adopted a dog from Ridgeback Rescue of the US (RRUS). This blog provides a forum for you to share stories (both joys and concerns) about your adopted ridgeback. This blog is ONLY to be used for this. This is not for the discussion of rescue business. Any posts found to be in violation of this will be removed.
TJ, and Taylor with Harvey, the eight year old bunny, in backyard. We waited quite a while to get them used to each other and now they all play together very well. TJ and Taylor, sorry to say, think pellets are gourmet treats - yuk. I have fouled up this post several times so will quit here. Hope everyone had a happy Easter. Jackie
This weekend I was lucky to have a few of RRUS' former adopters and some of their dogs in my home for a weekend visit for a local dog show. It was all about food, fun, and friendships. Each one of us has adopted a Ridgeback, then became volunteers for RRUS, and through our experiences in rescue became close friends.
It started snowing Friday at noon and continued for nearly 24 hours. The National Weather Service reported a total of 11 inches.
I came across this poem in one of the Ridgeback forums:
RRUS is in need of foster homes. The more foster homes we have, the more dogs we can save. This is because we do not long term board any of the dogs that come into the group. All of them are placed in foster homes where they can be with people and exposed to all sorts of situations. This allows us to better judge the best home for the dog. If you or someone you know might be interested in fostering please contact us or fill out an application. It does not matter what state you are in, we can use your help. We are a national organization and have members all across the US. If you aren't sure fostering is for you but want to talk to someone about it please contact us. We have several experienced fosterers who will gladly talk to you. We also have mentors who will walk you through your fostering experience. We won't leave you high and dry with a foster dog!
